Soon School Will Be Out

As I was on my way to work this morning I had to stop a number of times because a School Bus was in front of me.   I smiled, as I started to remember what it was like for me and my friends in the distant past.  I am pretty certain that our parents had never imagined that today’s children would be picked up with almost door to door service by a big school bus to take us to school.  There was no such thing as a cafeteria that made lunch for us.  I bet it is rare the occasion when today’s child is given lunch in a brown paper bag.  Was life really simpler in those days, or are we just making things more complicated today?  I have a feeling we are complicating our lives, for better or worse.

I am thankful that the weather is much nicer this week, than it was the past few.  This morning we woke to a bright and sunny day.

The high is expected to reach just about 80 degrees.

Things are also beginning to pick up at the facility as well.  The flowers are blooming nicely thank you.  I think Mother Nature did most of the work, with all the rain we have been having.  Now we are working diligently on weed control.

People are commenting on the sign we have placed out front.  It is a real eye catcher with the face of a Major TV star looking out at the passing cars.

A majority of the units that have been rented are smaller (5×5 and 5×10) sized units, to our new tenants.  The climate controlled units are perfect for the items they are storing.   Coaches are standing on their side in quite a few units.

We had 2 guys chip in on a 10 x 15 sized unit for their bikes and trailer.  They have been coming in and out quite frequently since they have rented the unit.   The thing that clinched the deal was the fact that we offered 24 hour access to their toys.

We had a young couple come in and rented a unit to store furniture while their Mother’s house was being renovated and turned into a Mother Daughter home.  So they are shopping now for items for their new home as it is being completed.  Storing everything with us in their unit until the job is completed.  They will only need the unit for about 3 or months.

People are sometimes surprised to find out that we can often arrange a special package that can make anything from a short term storage need or a longer term storage necessity more affordable to fit their budget.  The rental although month to month can sometimes last for years, if the unit is needed for a business that requires the unit for excess inventory or a mini warehouse for Plumbers and Electricians.  Businesses will sometimes decide to pay for a year at a time, which can lower the expense to them when not paying month to month.

So as you go back and forth on the road, remember to watch out for the kids, they will soon be out and about on Summer Vacation.   Ahhhh to be young again with half of the energy of a child.
