That is Entertainment

Welcome back everyone.

It was a very slow night last night.  I was watching the Mets on TV, and they had another 9th inning melt down.  So I started to channel surf.  Have you ever noticed in the day of cable TV there still isn’t much worth watching.  I surfed right by the Housewives of New York, to zip by the Housewives of Atlanta.  I noticed that they even have a show called something like Mob Wives.  The good thing about cable is you can see the titles of the shows without having to waste 5 minutes watching it.  I wonder if Mob Wives all have their own lieutenants.  I didn’t stop to find out.

My cable supplier has 2 competing shows that are dedicated to Storage Auctions.  I had to stop…. and see what I was missing.

I am glad that I did.  It seems that there are fortunes to be made if you go to these storage auctions.  I will tell you about it in a short while.

I have been managing the Wayne Storage Station for 2 and half years, and I now know that I am doing something wrong.   It seems that the Storage Facilities they showed on TV tonight are just plumb full of great things you can have and all you have to do is bring cash and know how to yell out real loud.  YOOOO or something like that.  Or you can bang real hard on the door of the unit you are standing next to.  The auctioneer will know that you are making a bid.  You also have to whisper in your partner’s ear, just loud enough for the television mic to hear you say to you partner, this is a gold mine.  We will go up to $2500.00 with our bid.  I was very surprised that the people 6 inches away can’t hear this, but you and I at home can.

Well anyway I was captivated watching this one unit go up for auction.  They made sure to tell everyone watching that at the person who owned the unit was in jail, and a mechanic.  Then they panned to the Tool Boxes that everyone could see in the unit, and if you had gotten up to get a beverage, the auctioneer again pointed that out to all the bidders that there were tool boxes clearly visible.  Next there was a tight shot of this tarp that was covering something in the center of the unit.   Well the bidding started and there wound up being a bidding war between these 2 bidders.  When this one guy thought he had the top bid and was going to win the unit, this other fella walked to the door, and as the auctioneer was saying going once, going twice, and the room was awash in silence, it could be heard in a loud and clear voice.   $4000.00……..The crowd was in silence……  He won the bid.  Now for the suspense.

Run to the tarp as soon as everyone had left to the next unit being auctioned.  Slowly the tarp was pulled away in anticipation……   A scream could be heard…   What was it???  What was under the tarp…?   Bodies???  Gold Bullion??   Jump to commercial.

Well now that you are all in suspense, under the tarp they found not 1, but 2 mint condition Harley Davidson Motorcycles.   They were so shiny; I had to put on sun glasses to continue to watch.

The guy that won the bid, had visions of mistletoe dancing in his head.  His estimate was that they were worth at least $50,000.00  …….   But wait he had to go to the DMV to make sure they were not stolen.  I believe the next scene was the wife saying that this one was hers, as she sat on the bike, and the husband was saying they were selling them.

  1. Warehouse says:

Self storage needs are rising day by day and I believe there are many companies present in the market to help you for that and even for giving suggestions.Warehouse

  2. I do agree with all of the concepts you’ve presented for your post. They are very convincing and can certainly work. Nonetheless, the posts are too short for novices. May you please prolong them a little from subsequent time? Thank you for the post.
